Prof. Dr. Tarkan Karakan
Prof. Dr. Tarkan Karakan graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. Between 1994-2000, he worked as a research assistant at Gazi University, Department of Internal Medicine. Afterward, he worked in Ankara Bayındır Hospital Gastroenterology Department between 2000-2002. He completed his minor assistant at Gazi University Gastroenterology Department and continued to work in the same department since 2005. He received the title of associate professor in 2008. He continues to work as a lecturer in Gazi University Gastroenterology Department.
Prof. Dr. Tarkan Karakan, who attended the advanced endoscopy course in Brussels in 2009, was an observer in the field of Endoscopic Ultrasonography at Johns Hopkins University in the USA for three months in 2011. Prof. Dr. Tarkan Karakan, who is in the WGO Probiotic, Diet and Gut Guidelines Committees, is a member of many associations such as ESPEN, EASL, and ESDO.
He is also the chairman of the Probiotic Prebiotic Association and is on the board member of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association.
