She completed her doctorate studies in Australia between 2007-2014 and then worked as a post-doc. During her time in Australia, she worked on metagenome/microbiome and phage projects conducted at the national laboratories of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Ministry of Health, The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO). She participated in bacteriophage studies at Georgia Eliava Institute for a while. After returning to Turkey in 2015, she established the GENKOK Metagenomics Unit. She has two patents on the diagnosis of cirrhosis and Alzheimer’s from feces on microbial markers. She is currently manages the research and development process of ENBIOSIS Biotechnology.
