The Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) is an annual international competition that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship among college and university students. The competition is organized by the World Bank Group and invites teams of students to submit their innovative solutions to global development challenges.

The GIC focuses on three main areas: innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact. The competition challenges students to create solutions that address global challenges, such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and access to healthcare and education.

The competition is open to students from all disciplines, and teams must consist of at least two members. The GIC provides resources and mentorship to support the development of the teams’ ideas and business plans. The top teams are invited to participate in a week-long Bootcamp in Washington, D.C., where they receive further mentorship and networking opportunities.
